As we explain in section one of our terms of service, we do not and cannot vet members. If that's a concern, you might wish to set up stays only with those who have previous recommendations from fellow members on their profiles. 

Real names, phone numbers, and a host's physical address are exchanged between both parties as soon as a stay request is accepted, but you can ask for it sooner in your correspondence. You may also feel more at ease if you have a phone conversation before you agree to the stay.  

Upon arrival, feel free to ask for ID to verify it matches the name registered on our site. Of course, if you feel any level of discomfort for any reason, you can cancel at any time. Even after arrival, a host can ask a guest to leave for any reason. As a guest, you can make any excuse and drive away.
